Everyone, thanks for your kind comments. That was kind of hard to write because it brought back things that are no longer immediate in my mind and are painful. But it is also the first time I have come to understand the difference between who I am and where I am now, verses 1997 and I can't place a value on that.

Daryl, about my doctor -- I didn't realize that he was one of the few Atkins friendly doctors until much later. He is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine. He treats a *lot* of professors in his practice, which is an art form because they walk into his office armed with the latest information and question everything. As a result, he stays on top of what is going on in the research world. He says his client base makes him a better doctor. I figure he would have never been a run-of-the-mill doctor regardless of his client base.

No, from the sound of him, I bet not! Maybe we'll see more like him, as time goes on.

Again, you have my kudos, Liz

"I am often the most frustrated before a breakthrough" - I wonder if letting out all the frustration helps lower cortisol levels?

Thanks Mousesmom -- very kind of you.

Deirdra, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that had something to do with it. I felt so much better after hearing from so many people that I think it made a big difference.
