Also, we discovered I have a goiter (a growth on the thyroid) and I just got the results that it's not cancerous.
So, that's the good news.
Bad news, I probably won't lose until my thyroid is optimized, but meanwhile I just keep eating on plan (because it's delicious ; )
I don't bother weighing or using ketostix, just being patient while the weeks and months go by, and we adjust my thyroid meds.
My levels were deliberately kept low for years, so who knows what damage was done, and what I'll feel like at a "normal" range.
Patience.
Didi

Me too!
It would be nice to feel better, and lose weight.

After 2 days on cytomel brain fog began lifting, 6 weeks on cytomel I started losing weight, 10 weeks chronic back was gone and I became super flexible hair got thicker and 1 eyebrow grew back, 13 weeks oily skin, strong nails, not cold anymore, 20 weeks eyebrows match no more heart palpitations, no inexplainable chill.

Hope this gives you hope to hang in there. Reversing thyroid problems is the best!

Nawchem, THANK YOU for sharing your experience. It's been about 3 weeks for me, and I am not known for my patience, but I just have to wait and see.
No real improvement YET.
Meanwhile, I just had a yummy plate of pulled pork (hold the BBQ sauce) and wilted spinach with bacon.
Yeah, I'm doing okay while waiting : )

Hello, I am so happy you are having good results. I wanted to ask, is not being flexible a hypothyroid symptom? Thanks.

Algts: Tendonitis in my hips = swelling, pain, inflexibility.

My endocrinologist says that this condition is not caused by my hypothyroidism; however, I have read that inflammation of soft tissues and tendonitis are in fact symptoms.

Then again, could be too much strain on my frame from carrying too much weight. IDK!

Cytomel is very fast acting. If you don't feel anything right away then your dose is too low.

NancyLC: However, doc won't retest my levels until a full 6 weeks have passed.
Blecch.
