Today I went to my eye Doctor for a follow up contact lens appointment. I had just gotten home from work and changed, and walked to my eye doctors office.
The Doc looked at my eyes, made me take my lens's out and then delaminated............delapitated......debillitated...........(dang it!) my eyes with those evil eye drops that make it impossible to go outside without being blinded by sunlight.
After he looked into the back of my eyeballs he told me that I had perfectly healthy eyes, (aside from the whole "Not being able to see straight without corrective lenses"), I paid him a big hunk of money and was told I would get a phone call when my years supply of contact lenses came in.
I wandered out into the street on my way home and could barely walk since I was blinded by the sunlight reflecting off of every surface around me. Sidewalks are
bright when the sun is shining on them.
My Favorite pub is in between my house and my eye doctors office, so I stopped off and had a drink since it is nice and dark, (and air conditioned), in there.
While I was sitting at the bar sipping a Scotch and Soda, a Real Estate Agent I used to do work for came in and started greeting patrons sitting at the bar.
I have not done any work for her for about a year and a half, but I have gone to her house for bbq's or parties a few times. She said "Hi" to everyone as she walked to an empty spot at the bar, and I was quite taken aback when she reached me and just shook my hand and said "Hi, nice to meet you!"
I was sitting in a dark bar with a baseball hat and sunglasses on and Kim kept looking at me with a puzzled look on her face. She finally came up and asked my name.I cracked up. She finally recognized me.
That was a nice feeling.
