Default Montignac Slimming Sensation

Hiya, anyone in here on Montignac? I'm just starting out and I really want to get into this! I have a lot of weight to lose, currently being 196lbs, like to get down to 119lbs. I have an under-active thyroid gland and I have a weakness down the whole of my left hand side! I love staying active and like to work out to my exercise videos first thing, I also love to walk! I am very paranoid and have been for a very long time, please help me! In this book I have titled The Montignac Slimming Sensation, on page 110, it talks about Lipoprotein and has a table at the bottom with foods that are recommended, tolerable and forbidden. I get mixed up in the tables as some foods are in one section i.e. recommended and then a page later, its in forbidden. Full fat milk for example. Please shed some light for me as I really want to lose weight! Thanks, be in touch (I am head injured and sometimes have trouble understanding) NEVER MIND THOUGH!

I have never felt more determined and I know that there is so much I can do, my diet is one big thing in my life!

Hi Smileblue

My sister (and my mum in Germany) have been following Montignac for a long time. My sister lost 40 pounds in a year. I have done it, too, so I know the basics, although I follow a different diet now that is more suitable for me.

I don't know the book you are referring to but I have read 'The Montignac Method Just for Women'. Without going into a detailed explanation, in this book he postulates that if you eat carbs WITHOUT fat, you won't gain weight, while if you eat them WITH fat, you will. He recommends that you either eat fat and proteins together minimising the carb content as much as possible or you eat a low/zero fat protein with carbs with a lower glycemic index, e.g. brown rice, beans, natural very low fat yoghurt with berries, etc.

Full milk has carbs, fat and protein, so because it is a carb/fat combination, it is not allowed but skimmed milk is. My sister always uses powdered skimmed milk for her coffee (not sure about the taste...)

I am not sure how much the theory in your book resembles the one in mine but hope this helps.

Michaela

Good luck.
