you lost 100 lbs, there isn't anything you can't do if you set your mind to it. Just keep telling yourself that if you have a craving it will go away if you think about something else and don't let the thought enter your mind again. You are in control of your mind. Way to go. After the first couple of weeks, you won't feel like you do today.

Day 1 down! But I am soooo exhausted -- maybe because nicotine is a stimulant? Does anyone else remember experiencing anything like that?

Sleep is very important at this time. I found my ratinalization skills and emotions were on overload if I didn't get my 8 hrs sleep. AT LEAST.

Think of this time as recovery.
It is!

Your body needs rest, fluids and good nutrition.
Keep it up!

I agree with feelskinny. You should pamper yourself because your body is going through a big change. You lungs start healing a couple hours after you quit smoking. I read this link, can't remember where, ugh. Anyway, it said what happens to you after 1 hour, one day, one week, etc. I think by 10 years you have the same chance for lung cancer as a non smoker, not that much. You are really saving your health. You will be cranky and tired for a bit but then you will freak with the energy you have.

yes yes yes...i was whipped for about three weeks actually. Very small price to pay for what you get in return.

you keep it up and you'll get to the other side and be sooo glad for it!

i've been quit over two years and feel wonderful and NEVER thought I could do it...come and join me!!

Yes, I remember having no energy at all. That will get better. Drink lots of water. Snack on veggies. The first day is the hardest and you got thru that. It will keep getting easier. I'll be smoke free for a year tomorrow.

way to go Diane. Celebrate tomorrow. I will have one year in 3 weeks from today, same day for one year with no alcohol. I joked with my husband that I am going to celebrate with a keg and an carton of cigs. I can't celebrate with cake or ice cream so I am going to shop for something new to wear. Hopefully I will be down in weight so something will look good on me. Isn't it great not to smoke. I smoked for 22 years and now I am just mad I didn't quit sooner. I really never did a really big try because I didn't think I could do it. I now figure if I can, anyone can. I have the most addictive personality I know. Congrats for the year and good luck for many more to come!!!!

I have that same addictive personality lol but the worst habit was definately the ciggies. Funny I told my husband this morning I was going out to buy a pack of cigs to celebrate my year. he was like ha ha not. It does feel good to be off them for good this time. Congrats on your almost 1 year also.

Congrats on the 3 years John. I just got back from Cancun. It's amazing how much money you save. My husband quit over a year ago so we are X 2 also.
