Okay, I am having issues finding the meat and eggs thread...also, what are your thoughts on using pork rinds and cream cheese as a snack if I am not hungry enough to really eat? Also, do any of you think it is feasible to lose 100 pounds in a year? I was asking this in my other thread also...I was hoping by the time my husband got home from deployment that I would be 100 pounds lighter. Also, should I cut my cheese and dairy out for the first month...

Losing 100 pounds in a year is feasible but you have to excercise too. A 30 minute brisk walk daily would be good to start with. Pork rinds and cream cheese is an okay snack. Just watch your carb count on them. You can cut the dairy/cheese out if you wish. That is up to you. I am thinking about cutting it out again since it always breaks me out in acne.

Here is the meat and egg thread.....

Thank you, PerfectFit! Maybe I will just make deviled eggs or something. I am unable to exercise as for right now and hope I will feel better sooner rather than later. The Juicing Only then Vegan thing, even though it was only for less than 6 months, kicked me in the ass. I still get dizzy just by standing up.
Thanks for the link!

I hope you feel better soon.

Type "Sit and be fit" into Youtube and you will get a LOT of chair exercise videos to follow along to.

A little extra salt might help this, too. I sometimes put a dash in a glass of water, or have a sip of dill pickle or sauerkraut juice (tangy too!). If it tastes good, I do it again. If it tastes awful or disgusting, I spit it into the sink. I used to get dizzy in the middle of taking long slow walks, and this helped me a lot. I think low carbing, especially if carbs are low enough like on Atkins Induction, causes us to retain less water, which also means retaining less electrolytes. In one of the Protein Power books or on his blog, Mike Eades mentions drinking pickle juice. In NANY, the mention drinking hot salted broth (another tasty option, especially with a pat of butter stirred in for a light snack).

Thank you guys...the exercise issue is from the Vegan thing, though. I am just deficient across the board, but am slowly feeling better! You guys are awesome! Thanks!

I'm unsure if going without food (fasting) every now and again is detrimental. Many people claim it is healthy and have a regular fast. I've never been into it myself though.
Did you gain weight at the same time as missing out meals?

to get back to the topic of the thread title, I do agree saying soy is caveman like food is stupid, however, I don't think cavemen ate only meats. hunting would have been very hard, & dangerous, with no guns or metal spears, so I am quite sure they ate tubers, weeds & nuts. Whatever they could scavenge. I think some of the Californian Native Americans, used to store acorns for the winter.

I don't think anyone was saying they only ate meat.
Hunting is not easy but neither is gathering so no doubt people ate anything edible.
