For me, Atkins is defining the difference between a diet and a way of life. As long as I was fixated on weight loss as the only reason I was eating low carbs a la Atkins, I was on a diet. After I made eating for health my primary goal, with weight loss my secondary goal, I slipped into the low-carb way of life. I gave up daily weighing, going only by fit of clothing. I'm not tempted to carb out ... candy, pasta, etc ... because it's been more than a year since I last ate more carbs than are in the Atkins salad. However, I still remember how sluggish & sleepy or depressed I felt most of the time after indulging in carbs. I prefer how I feel on LC.
