Mark, you need to factor in that you are doing an INTENSE workout several times a week. You NEED more calories than some other people. Stick with what works for you.

Here's a good example of why we each have to do what works for each of us. A poster on these boards (though not on the PP forum) is AFWife. For months she ate as much in a day as I would eat in a week. I'm talking eggs and bacon and sausage at breakfast, 3 doublecheeseburgers at lunch, and a huge dinner. And she was losing like 4 pounds a week! Unbelieveable! If I ate that much, I'd balloon up in no time. But it worked for her.

You find what works for you, and don't take into consideration what works for other people. By doing the intense workouts that you do, your body needs a lot more calories to repair. Accept it.

And if what you're doing doesn't work for you, try something else. We each have this horrendous journey of figuring out our own magic formula.

When I figure out mine, I'll let you know.

Great, I got scared for awhile and I seemed to be hung up in the 214# range without being able to do anything about it. This morning when I got on the scale, I finally got my 210# back.

Thanks Dawn,
This morning when I got on the scale, it registered 209#. I still feel that 3.4 miles walk we did last night...I guess it paid off and it was worth it

Well, I just came back from a music festival and although I broke almost evrey rules of my LC regime, I've gained only one big pound. Now is the time to get back since I want to see that 208# soon.

It's about time for a status update. I'm still not eating any starch such as bread, rice and pasta. I have eliminated sugar as much as possible. I have cut down on beer drinking from about 30 to 40 bottles a week to maybe 3 or 4. My regiment consist mainly of eating game meat,(moose and deer), fresh fish, poultry, cheese, vegetable, tofu and a limited amount of fruit. I eat until I'm satisfied but I also included a moderate amount of light exercise in my easy does it program of PP. My cholesterol numbers has changed for the better. This morning I weighed in at 205 # and I feel much better. The pain in my foot are gone...no more heartburn... skin and scalp problems are gone...
All the good reasons to stay with it and do the right thing PP style.

204# this morning. I have changed some of the ways I prepare my food and the way I eat. I don't measure or weight portions anymore and I allow myself the freedom of eating more or less of the food I prepare. Totally excluded among the good things are: all sugars and sweet drinks, alcohol, all flours and breads including pasta and sweet baking, potatoes and some of the higher carb veggie. I do away with popcorn and I find it a little difficult to resist the corn on the cob, especially the peaches and cream. Things are still going well. I came to realize that what I eliminate in food intake is just as important as the quantity of what I take in.

Lanna - Ok let's do your calculation based on the information you are giving me.

Your Lean Body Weight: 103 lbs
Gender : female
Age :46

On page 83 of PP refer to the chart near the bottom of the page. Your age and gender tells me that your ideal amount of body fat should fall in the range of 22% to 28% of your total weight.

The remaining percentage is lean body weight (LBW)
100%-22%= 78%
100%-28%= 72%
Therefore your percentage range for ideal lean body weight is 72% to 78% percent of your total weight.

Now let's convert this LBW into actual pounds as they have done for Missy on page 82

Divide 103# by 72% = 1.43
Divide 103# by 78% = 1.32
Multiply each one by 100 to get your idel body weight which is 132lbs to 143lbs
I hope this helps you.

Lanna - By mistake I left the word range out of the last sentence in the previous post. So here goes again. Based on the previous calculations your ideal lean body weight range is anywhere between 132lbs to 143lbs. If I can help you with anything else just let me know.
