Ok, now you got me all excited! I can't wait to try this. I just placed an order and should see it tomorrow or Friday at the latest. I'll keep you posted if I see any changes from this new addition to my WOE.

I do believe that it has been very helpful with my weight. I am not saying that it made me lose 3 lbs ( I stuck to my low carb lifestyle but I overate during Thanksgiving ). I do believe that everything that I did, over the holiday, was helpful.

Once I added chromum to my diet and was not happy with that at all. I put on weight while taking chromium. I put on weight when I added progesterone cream. Coconut oil has been the only stuff that has not hindered my weight. I can't help but to believe that it contributes to my weight loss.

I'm sitting here sipping my morning cuppa--with coconut oil--and it's delicious. I used the same coconut oil I bought for baking muffins--a cheaper version (from Wild Oats) that still has a bit of coconut fragrance to it. In the coffee, I can smell the coconut, but I can't taste it. There's no additional sweetness.

I melted about a heaping tsp. in the cup, then poured in the coffee and half-n-half as usual. Makes my lips greasy--but hey, in the winter, that's probably a nice little dollop of lip lube to prevent chapping.

I've never experienced any dramatic weight-loss effects from using coconut oil. But I've never used it in large quantities.

daisyboo, American heavy cream or whipping cream is probably the equivalent of double cream. And my guess is, Americans would hesitate to buy anything labelled "clotted" no matter how delicious it is.

SInce Thanksgiving, I have really been upping the antie ( sp? ) on coconut oil and I come very close to 3 1/2 tablespoons. I am down 4 lbs. When I am not so strict with my coconut oil intake my weight does go up. Therefore, I am going to keep taking my coconut oil and see what happens. I just read a success story where a woman regulated her thyroid by adding 3 1/2 tablespoons in her diet, over a period of 2 months.

I love coconut oil, and can eat it by the spoonful right from the jar!

As I unpacked my Netrition box, the smell from the coconut flour was just overwhelming. Can't wait to try it!

I'm thinking that I really should try this....but I don't know if I want to try it in coffee or teas. Besides using it to fry eggs what other ways are there to use coconut oil in? Also what is a good brand to buy??

actually, no... i haven't noticed my coffee tasting any sweeter, and i hate sweetened coffee. all it does is adds a light coconutty essence, though i wouldn't mind trying to make an emulsion of cream and coconut oil so that i don't get the oil slick.

a co-worker saw my coffee and oil slick this morning and said "eww... that doesn't look appetizing." i told her it was coconut oil, and that it's actually one of the best natural oils you can eat. she asked about cholesterol (typical low-fat response... oh well) and i told her part of the reason its so good is because it lowers bad cholesterol and raises the good. i think she tried to take her foot out of her mouth by commenting on how shiny my hair is, and i didn't want to be mean by saying that's just from a good conditioner . one thing i DID notice almost immediately is that the severely dry patches of skin i was getting on my hands, across my knuckles and spreading to between my fingers, have disappeared.

Well i'm on 2 mugs of this a day now and i'm going to weigh myself middle of next week (not lost any since reaching goal) to see if there is a downward trend, that would be a bonus that i'll take with both hands

I melt some in the mornings too and put it in my protein shake with some cinnamon and i run for an hour or weight train/cardio for 2 - 3 hours on that!

Bon, that sounds great. I just surfed a little more on that site. If you get the book before me, please let me know how you like it. If I should get it for Xmas, then I'll tell you how I like it.

Now THAT is wonderful news. I read the benefits recently and I was blown away. But I have pretty dry skin and weight loss and other potential bonus effects aside, it'd be lovely to find some nutritional ways to combat issues like that. Awesome...oh btw, your hair is SO shiny! Love it. Is that from low carbing? ROFL

I started using CO just a couple of days ago (gosh, I've only started induction since Sun) and been up to only 1 or 1.5 TBSP a day (in my coffee and eggs in the morning). So far I'm down 2 lbs in 4 days, so not sure how much the oil is contributing to a "clean" induction so far... I have dry skin as well (heck I live in the desert) but haven't noticed the benefit on that yet. Need to up my intake first.
