Being a customer service rep for a large insurance carrier who has many hurricane related claims this year, I've been privileged to speak with people who have had their lives literally blown or washed away and still tell me jokes and hang up wishing me a "blessed day".
I've also had the opportunity to pray for the victims who were more worried about their in-ground pools than their fellow victims who had nothing. One man blatantly told me his lawyer told him he didn't have to worry about anyone other than himself. Think about it. Who really needs more prayer. The one whose only treasure is here on earth or the one who still has everything in his heart even if he only owns the clothes on his back and the pair of slippers he was wearing when he was evacuated.
And then I come home to my children who still live with me, or I get to talk on the phone to my child who is grown, his wife and my most beautiful grand son. I know some of those people have wished me a blessed day, but truth to tell, isn't every day anyway?
