I signed it. I find this outrageous.

We will not be able to purchase low-carb products yet people can still purchase tobacco products and alcohols? People can still eat McFoods and Frankenfoods (genetically modified) but NOT low-carb?

Now how does THAT make sense?

Sometimes when Canada is ridiculed I have to laugh along, because it really is hilarious how our gov't can impose such disgusting laws upon us.

Smile Government regs

I am afraid that the large companies will not blink an eye at 10,000 signatures. 10,000+ purchased items returned within a week period follwing a manufacturers "full satisfaction return policy" (organized return strategy) will raise open their eyes more.

The government as well will not move unless dollars are being lost in sales buy consumers speaking the only way gov't knows.

A lot of this is the control of uncle sam.

Look at the nutraceutical industry and the natural industry all over the gov't is getting involved.

Do you know that for a company to send anything and I mean from a candy bar to heavy machinery to the USA you now have to get registered with the FDA and get prior approval notification and a number so you can send it off. If you do not you risk major fines.

I agree that Gov't is making things hard for the business and this limits consumers purchasing selection but in the same note it does provide a regulating guideline.

But basically it is politics and money.

"Money talks ethics walk" I have always said.

Where do I sign!

Just wanted to say that I signed as well. I wish more people would sign it. I don't think the numbers are very impressive so far. Sigh.

Default misc thoughts

Hi Christie,

Thanks so much for starting this petition. I live in North Vancouver, BC, and have been doing everything I can to get signatures. Can't believe how apathetic people are!!!(mostly low-carbers, but still....) Do you think that we are doing well on the signatures? Don't know what else to do.
One thing I'd like to see is to occasionally, like once per week, post a notice re this petition else where on the site like "general support" or whereever is most read--I didn't go into the "Canada" section for quite a while, it's such a big site?
Again, thanks, and let me know what you think. I asked Dana Carpender to include it in her next newsletter and she said "no problem"--Yeah!
Regards,
Datahamstr (Leigh)

Default and furthermore....

Sorry, I didn't see the last few posts, I see I'm not the only one discouraged at the poor response.....as I said in last post, we'll have to do more, I thnk.
Health Canada always gets away with these things because nobody hears about it till too late. I have also thought of contacting the health writer at newspapers---
By the way, Dana Carpender said in her email "it puzzles me that an otherwise progessive country like Canada would do something like this "(approx. wording!) Yeah, me too!!! Don't forget they also took many of our herbs and vitamins off our shelves several years ago.....they really push my buttons!
Regards,
Datahamstr

I signed the petition, also I appreciate the efforts put into this by all.
Is it possible to put the petition on paper, to collect signatures? I know very few people who use computer.
If we write letters, to whom would we send them?
