I think it is to be a costly error for Coke. Low carbers will drink diet drinks with zero calories, zero carbs. I may be wrong and their market research may had told them that there is a place for a mid-calorie drink, but I just don't see it.
I drink Diet Coke already. I can't imagine switching to something with that much sugar.
A thought that came to me is that there are a lot of overweight kids nowadays. And they say that one of the reasons is that they drink way too many sugar sweetened drinks, soda being a big one. Ideally, parents should control what their children ingest. But we all know that's easier said than done. I thought that it might be easier to get the children to drink this new soft drink than a straight up diet version.
It's just a thought. Too bad they didn't use splenda as a sweetner though.
c2 has aspertame STILL.... Pepsi Edge has splenda and sugar only.. no aspertame.
I drink Diet Rite because it has no aspertame... which I can't have while trying to get pregnant and doing IVF. But I DO buy the C2 for my husband who has refused to go totally diet because of the aspertame/aftertaste. He seems VERY happy with product so far. Tho as soon as Edge is available in Mass, I'll be buying that one for him instead.
