the answer to vanilla rum cARB COUNT
Rum Carb Counts and Nutrition
Rum is a fermented drink made from sugar. Rum has been around for centuries, and is well known as the favorite drink of pirates and sea-going ruffians. Rum was extremely popular with colonists and kept them warm during many a long wintry night.
Rum does not have carbs in it because the starting sugar is fermented. That is how alcohol is created. Yeast eats the sugar and turns it into alcohol. Sugar is destroyed, alcohol is created.
Here are the carb counts for various styles of rum. Straight rum is always zero carbs. This is because the sugar has been turned into alcohol - and alcohol has zero carbs. Note that alcohol does have CALORIES. It is one of the four types of energy a body can burn, along with protein, fat and carbohydrates. So while it's not a carb, you can't drink unlimited quantities and expect to lose weight!
Captain Morgan (a spiced rum) comes in four flavors:
Original - 0.3g
Silver - 1.7g
Parrot Bay - 6.0g
Private Stock - 2.2g
Malibu Rum - 5.1g
I personally like Bacardi Rum. The straight version is zero carbs. Here are some other versions -
Rum Bacardis:
Bacardi Light 0g
Bacardi Gold 0g
Bacardi Limon 2g
Bacardi Vanilla 2g
Bacardi O 3g
Bacardi Razz 3g
Bacardi Coco 2g
Malt Bacardis:
Bacardi Silver - 34g
Bacardi O3 - 33g
If you're using tonic water or soda as a mixer, be sure to use a diet version with 0g of carbs!
