The Dalles is actually one of my favorite places to visit. Lots of things to do (compared to some of the other places i stay for work), and a few decent restaurants. Thank goodness for air conditioning though, boy was it hot there last week!!!

Have you been to the "Good Life Market" the low carb store? They also opened up a restaurant called "The Nest"....very good low carb food. I do the majority of my low carb shopping there.

Yes...it was very warm last week...August always is. I like hot weather as long
as I have air conditioning.

Hi,

I'm not living there yet but I plan on moving to Vancouver area this year sometime. I'm trying to get all the information I could get as I've been there twice and fell in love but don't have a clue as to what life is like over there!

I live in portland!

I did Atkins for many years and never had much success. I am hypothyroid, so I seem to have little success with "dieting" period. I am currently starting the Body RX diet. I would be thrilled if there was anyone in the area doing the same. *hope*

Any support, however, would be so very welcomed!

Hey folks. Portland here too. I've only lived here for a little over two years but I absolutely adore the area.

MsTwacky I moved here from Northern California and I will never go back. Don't get me wrong I was raised most of my life in California so it will always have a place in my heart but this jsut feels like home. I've only been to the vancouver are a few times but it honestly felt the same. Friendly people beautiful scenery and man if you like hiking and biking its just heaven.

That's the impression I got when I was there both times. I feel that moving there is the right thing to do. Afterall, I'm not chained to L.A. by a career in the industry or what have you.

I just know I'm making the right decision!

Hey, Come Summer time I'll take any excuse to take a day or two off work for a weekend event!

Twacky, any updates on the move? Are you still looking in the Vancouver area or are you looking at a wider area now? Drop in when you get a chance...
