Default what do you drink on Paleo?

I am shifting from Atkins to Paleo.....seems to make more sense to me, but it means I am going to have to drop coffee.
Now I am one of those people that drinks coffee all day...usually very strong but black no sugar.
My other drinks of love were whisky and real ale (uk beer) which I also can't drink now....
depressing.........
I DO need an alcohol input of some sort sometimes
and what else can I drink for just hot/cold normal drinks????
Tried ginger and lemon tea...liking it, but the caffeine is sadly missing.
Quite like things like Ginger beer (not sure if you even have that in USA? It's not an alcoholic drink)
Will drink water, but can't bear the thought of just water for ever. And I understand fruit juices are no good because of fructose...........
Argggggggggg.....what do you drink?????

Really? That almost sounds like a dependency issue if you really feel you HAVE to drink.

I kept up on the coffee a long time, I'm no paleo purist. I slowly weaned myself off, caffeine withdrawal can be horrible, then drank Techino and herbal teas instead. Now I'm drinking a little coffee again... argh.

i have my whiskey and my black coffee..
i drink water, green tea, and sometimes wine.

can't remember the last time i had iced tea, but in summer i love fresh limeade, made with stevia.

ancient man didn't have any of this except for water.
i didn't live in those days.. i live in a modern world, therefore, i have chosen my cleanest drinking items.. this is the list i came up with and it suits my body really well...

YMMV

no, really not a dependancy issue! That sounded a little judgemental! I did say 'SOMETIMES' However, I do like a drink sometimes....I have already left the beer behind.
I work hard physical & mental days, and it's a stressy job at times, so a drink helps me relax and wind down in the evenings.
....and yes, I can happily go without a drink when I need to!....I like to have the choice though.

Well you did stress the point by writing "DO" in block capitals so it did make it look like you really DO need a drink.

There's a difference between "needing" a drink and wanting one.

If you figure out a way to not be "judged" let me know. AFAIK we're all judged on what we say and do. Seems like a part of drawing breath and being a member of human society.

Even my cats judge me.

A dog never judges.

Default Mint Tea

Dr. Lustig says the only thing you should have in your fridge is water.
I love mint tea, unsweetened. It's my drink of choice. I do like water with lemon in it.
My daughter drinks kombucha and I like the ginger kombucha.

Well, I don't see myself following any strict discipline in its entirety, that's still too limited for me. But I mostly eat paleo now, although I have a daily cappuccino that I make at home, I drink green tea with lemon, and mostly I guzzle water. Only very occasionally I might have a glass of wine or a Cosmo, but that is all pretty rare now.

I have discovered Green and Blacks cocoa...organic, unsweetened, and is stunning with warm coconut milk, or even watered down double cream...sorts out the comfort drink and choccy yearning all in one go! Makes me a happy bunny anyway.....
.....and just to frighten one or two purists here (not seriously, but slightly tongue in cheek) I sometimes put a splash of ...sshhh....
alcohol in it too!!!!!!!!!!!!
