Hi Graciejean, you are more than welcome to join us. Most of us do Atkins, though I started with South Beach as my intro to lower carb back in late 2003. What made me switch? Reading Gary Taubes "Good Calories Bad Calories", where I realized that the fear of saturated fat is based on, well, nothing.
As soon as Taubes convinced me that sat fat was GOOD, not bad, I started Atkins and have never looked back. Most of us on the Lab Rats thread eat old Atkins, ca. 1972 (DADR), rather than the latest New Atkins for a New You. We seem to be particularly metabolically resistant (most of us are post-menopausal), so you might do fine with NANY. Either program is good, it's just how stringent you need to be for your body.
Come take a look at Lab Rats - though most of us know each other, we're always looking for new friends.
