Happy Belated New Year everyone...

Well I can proudly say the holidays didnt ruin me toooo much. Splurged yes, but got right back on the wagon with no weight gain.

I joined a gym, and started kickboxing classes last week. This is a big change for me as I was jogging 30 min about 4 times a week. And some light weights. I was sooo bored with that. I only wished I had thought of these classes a looong time ago when I first started Atkins. I have found I love them and the motivation is great. I meet with a trainer tomorrow for the first time. I know I can hit him up with questions but I was just wondering about a couple of things.

Im doing the classes 4 times a week, and maybe weights 1 day? Is this too much or too little? Also the thing Im not liking a lot is that I get home by 7 in the evening and of coarse Im starving. Is this entering the danger zone of eating so late? If I eat before the class I am afraid I will be hungry again later in the evening which I have been good in saying no to late nite snacks.

I am bound and determined to get the remainder of my weight off! I want these other 45 lbs gone!!

Hope everyone is well!

My opinion........

Since you're just starting the classes, you might want to do them 3 days, alternating witha rest day. Kickboxing is intense (and fun!), so you might find yourself burning out quickly on 4. Lifting is important, too......if you only want to do one day, I would do it on a KB day, prior to class. Keep the rest days just that.........maybe walk on those days if you feel the need to do anything extra.

As for eating late? Disclaimer, of course.....YMMV.....but I don't see that as a problem. Eat some protein an hour before you exercise........you don't want to feel faint or weak. Then eat a healthy dinner when you get home. Don't forget, your metabolism will be in high grear for a few extra hours after exercise, so I wouldn't worry about eating later than usual. It's not like you'll be downing a pre-bed meal of pasta and bread, right? Right?

Why are you doing weights one day a week only? Just curious.

Good luck with your program. If you really get into this, you might want to start a journal and/or gym log to keep track of your progress, and get motivation and support to help dump those last 45lbs.

I just started with a training and found it to be really informative and helpful. I'm sure you'll get all your questions answered. I also exercise late at night - can't get to the gym until 8:00pm - so I try to eat dinner before I go (about 2 hours before). That doesn't always work out and I occasionally end up eating dinner after the workout, but I find that I'm not as hungry. Usually just a little will satisfy me and I'm fine until breakfast. Just be sure to listen to your body and what it wants. If you do have to eat late, keep it light (and of course, LC! lol)

You got to do what you got to do.

I wouldn't waste to much energy worrying about eating that late. It has more to do with diet composition and overall calorie intake for the day. If these two are in order (for you), then no worries.
