Default 4th day-2nd Time Induction-no loss at all!

I am frustrated because Atkins worked so well for me the first time. I'm on day 4 of my second Induction with no cheating and hidden carbs! I write down everything that I eat, keep a Fitday journal, drink plenty of water and work out at the gym. My pants are not getting loose at all! On my first induction I dropped 10 pound in 2 weeks. I'm afraid Atkins just won't work for me anymore! Help!

I understand where you are coming from. I had reached my goal before I started Atkins in July 2002, but was having trouble with maintainance and still craved sweets. There were a lot of things I was not doing right. I was going up to and over my upper limit of 115 too often. So recently I decided to go on induction and stay till I lost 10 pounds. I am realizing the weight is only the tip of the iceburg. I am on day 3, bought the new Diet Revolution and am following it to the letter this time. My cravings are disappearing. and I have lost about 2 pounds so far. Good luck to you.

seriously, give it the full 14 days. i'm forever on induction, this time i'm doing it right (no cheating), and at 7 days, i've just stepped on the scale to see 4 lbs gone.

Hi Hcomeau

I know it can be annoying when the scales don't move as fast as they did for you the first time around. However, this is only day 4 and so you are really not giving yourself a chance.

Firstly the more often you diet, any diet, then the harder it becomes to lose weight.

When you lost those 10 pounds the first time round how much did you weigh to begin with? I suspect you were heavier than you are now. With only 25 pounds to lose a general loss for the 2 week induction period is 10% of what you want to lose, so you should only expect to lose around 3 pounds max.

Glad that you are keeping a Fitday journal. What level of calories are you eating? These should be around 1600 for your current body weight.

I wonder if you are trying to go to low with your weight anyway. It may be that rather than the scales going down what you need is lots of work outs at the gym to convert any excess body fat into muscle.

Do you really want to have 15% body fat. That is rather low as for most females a level in the low 20's is considered the healthy average.

You are using Fitday, so look at the weight graph there and see what they suggest. I certainly think more exercise is key.
