Question Dizzy

Hello! One more question, if you don't mind. Today is my seventh day in the Induction Phase of Atkins and I am extremely dizzy. The dizziness began last night and has continued into today. My totals yesterday and today do not exceed 20 grams of carbohydrate, and I have been having more than enough protein sources. Any ideas? I'm hypoglycemic; could this be a reaction?

Thanks for your input!

Britt

(P.S.) Maybe it's the flu? Or am I beginning to live up to my hair color?

Britt: You might try upping your carbs with additional low-carb vegetables for a day or two to see if the dizziness subsides. If it persists you should probably see your doctor. Good luck

Hiya Britt,

I just got through Induction a few days ago and had been feeling very dizzzy/flu-like and just plain old crummy most of that whole time. Are you taking vitamins? I felt like something was missing and got a calcium/magnesium/potassium supplement around day 8 or 9 and I feel great now. I also added in more salad (just romaine lettuce with my 10 black olives or 1/2 avocado), and that may have helped also.

Best of luck, hope you feel better soon

Thumbs up Thank you!

Thank you both! I'll up the carbs and see how it goes.

Hugs!

Britt

Britt,
I am hypoglycemic too. my dizziness comes and goes. But this is supposed to be the way to eat for that. What kind of hypo do you have? Mine is reactive. During the GTT my blood sugar plummetted to 31 at the 2 hour mark...... I feel better later in the day and of course temporarily with sugar

Hi Britt, I have the same problem. Yesterday, I had to have a little sugar to bring my blood sugar up. It cost me a few carbs, but I sure felt a lot better. I think I'm going to buy a small bag of Hershey's Kisses so I can just have one or two when I feel like I'm going to pass out. This is a great way to eat and a great diet, but you shouldn't have to compromise your health and well-being to be thin. I also added a multivitamin a couple of times a day.
