Default I need my COFFEE!!!

If coffee has no carbs, and heavy cream has only 1/2 carb for Tbs....what would it hurt to have that 2 cups in the morning that I need so BADLY????

I always had one cup of coffee with a tablespoon of cream in it in the morning, and I still lost weight.

According to my Atkins carb counter, a cup of coffee has 1 gram of carb. Elsewhere, I've seen people say coffee has no carbs, but I always counted it as 1 g.

Coffee does have carbs as well as cream and splenda. I never gave up my coffee. I did a caf/decaf blend though. I mixed half and half. Everyones different.

It's not about the carbs in coffee or creamer, but the risk of caffeine spiking one's insulin. After Induction it's a personal decision, like diet soda; the LC Police won't be coming by to knock the cup out of your hand regardless.

Hey Boree... I thought I was going to DIE when I started Induction. Day one was horrible. I was beyond a headache & getting physically sick. I KNEW it was coffee. I drank too many cups to count in a day.
I finally made myself a small cup of coffee so I could relax and sleep.
I decided to cut it to one cup a day. I make it with heavy cream and splenda.
In DANDR he says if you cannot do it all at once, you can phase it out. So, I struggled a lot less cutting back to one. I plan to go to decaf once I am out of my current "supply". I buy fresh beans so I will use them up first.
GOOD LUCK...

Sounds like you have made a big improvement Red if you have gone from too many cups to count down to one cup a day!! Good going!!
I only drink two cups a day, in the morning, but I can sure tell it when I don't have any.
I think I will start in the morning and have one and a half, do that for two or three days then cut it down to one, then after that I will try decaf. Here at school where I work they have reg and decaf made up for us in the lounge, so I'll let you know how it goes!!

I have always drunk normal coffee too, between 2 to 4 cups a day and it never stopped my weight loss.
I tired to go cold turkey and it was horrific so I started up again!

Boree,
I never said how big my ONE cup was!!!
Kidding... it is a travel mug and probably a little over average. I hope you can cut it to where YOU feel good about it & it works for you.
Reading responses here, it seems like everyone finds their own way. You'll do GREAT!

32 ounces has roughly 1 carb.

I've never given it up, and never will.

I've managed to lose nearly 70lbs without giving up my coffee! I did eventually switch to fat free half and half... just to keep the calories under control

I won't give up coffee. It is too enjoyable and this way of eating isn't supposed to be punishment.

Everything in moderation.
