Default Cruising for a week, What would you do????????

For my parent's 50th anniversary we are all going on a cruise on the Mexican Riveria. I have never taken a cruise and I am worried as to what I will weigh when I return. I know I will blow my diet, and look forward to the wonderful food on board. Although, I will refrain from breads, chips, that sort of stuff. Advice is more than welcomed here. We leave January 4th. I am thinking I should lose some more weight before we leave.

Hi Junebug. I face the same dilemma. My family and I are going to Jamaica.

I think it depends on how you react to those carbs: they make me feel pretty run-down and tired. I certainly don't want to spend my whole vacation that way. So, I plan on staying LC during the day, and waiting until after dinner to have any sweets or other high-carb foods.

Well I'd say from my experince being on a cruise ship, stay away from the buffets, eat every meal in the dining room. I did that prior to L.C. and lost 2 pounds!!
Have a great trip, kathy

We are going on a cruise for Thanksgiving. This is our third and actually you can do pretty well. I was not LCing on the previous one but with all the activity you get pleanty of exercise. the specialty drinks can do you in. I am planning on doing my best but not getting crazy. I think the suggestion of staying away from the buffets is a good one. Someone also told me that when it comes to deserts you can ask for berries and whipped creme. The ships are very accommidating and willing to please. What cruise line are you going? We are sailing on Royal C.
I will let you know if I find any thing that will help you when when I get back from my cruise.

We are also sailing Royal C. Vision of the Sea- Mexico.

Where are you going? What kind of activities do they have on the ships? I love step class, do they have anything like that? I plan on going to the gym daily, and watching my carbs during the day. Maybe splurging for dessert. Wouldn't they have sugar free desserts for diabetics?

Been on that ship, it's Awesome, we had one of the owners suites. It was heaven!

You can also just order exactly what you want to have in your room if you like.

Cheers kathy
