Question question about "go to first unread post"

Hey Wa'il

I have been following along with the study journals that some of our members are keeping, and I have been trying to use the "go to the first unread post" option in order to avoid scrolling through what is often pages of posts. I keep finding that somehow I am lead to a post one or two beyond the actual last post that I looked at. I am not sure why that happens, but inevitably I scroll back one or two and then I see the last post I actually read. Could this have something to do with checking on two different computers? I use one at work during the day and sometimes check in if I have enough time. Does the positioning cookie itself on the computer somehow?

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

Thanks,

Mari

Mary, you got it right. It has to do with the different computers, or at leat that's one possibility. The other possibility, is expiration aftaer 15 minutes of no activity. Eaxample, if log in and find 10 unread post, but I only read 5, and then go do something else and come back, all 10 will be considered read. This is the way the cookies are configurerd to keep track of what's new.

I work around, to see all the day's new threads in case you might have missed something, is to log-out, and there's you'll see a link at the top, "View today's threads" which will list in chronological order all of todays topics.

Wa'il
