Hello from a UK newcomer
Hi everyone
I've plucked up the courage to post as a newbie, although I've been doing Atkins since the beginning of the year. It was going really well at first, but then I fell off the wagon
Anyway, I'm back on again now and doing OK so far, but still a way to go.
This seems a really great place to get support so hopefully I'll stay on this time!
This is a wonderfully inspiration site, with loads of information and just plain wonderfull people.
You are at the time, when you are ready to pick yourself up, and get right back into the way of eating that you know will help you, and has helped countless others!

Those darned carbs are addictive, they do still taste good (to most of us), and they're all over the place! It's easy to fall off and takes some practice to learn to hang on to the wagon seat!...I'm glad you got back on sooner, rather than later.

Good luck with your pursuit of this way of eating. My experience has been that the more you read the more convinced you are to stay on this path. The weight loss is just the tip of the iceberg so far as your health, energy and longevity is concerned.
The relatively small expense in getting hold of more reading matter is way offset by the increased commitment and the ability to rebutt the nay sayers with the TRUTH..
Books that I would recommend include the Bernstein book because he goes into the whole insulin control issue here is his web site http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/index.shtml.
Then Protein Power. The Cholesterol Myths is great to read and you can start with the web site here. http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm
Finally the "Fats that Heal and the Fats that Kill" by Eric Erasmus. if you cook with anything but virgin olive oil after reading this book then I will be surprised...............
Finally did you read this article from the Independent, it adds a lot of "respectability" having it published in a quality news paper. The Myth of the Low Fat Diet. http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/he...sp?story=293029
