Default Getting back on track w/eating

Between Jan. 9, 2004 and Jan. 9th 2005 I lost 50lbs. I quit smoking on Jan. 9th 2005. I've gained about 13lbs and am back to get tough and get my head back in the eating right game. I've been smoke free for 4 months and cut myself too much slack when it comes to eating. I have, however, been getting more exercise than ever and my clothes still fit ok for the most part.

Now my goal is to combine eating correctly with no smoking.

120 days, 11 hours, 23 minutes and 47 seconds smoke free.

Congrats, I quit 9 years ago when I got pregnant with my first child. It is no easy task, Keep up the great work. I had a box of straws handy and when I felt like over eating or smoking I would chew a straw (as silly as that sounds) and it really helped.
Congrats again
Take care
Astrid

I quit in January and put on SOOOOOOOO much weight and started again 2 weeks ago (I'm so ashamed). I want to stop again but I am terrified I will gain the weight back. What do I do?

I lost roughly 40 lbs lowcarbing and then took it into my head to quit smoking. Unfortunately, I didn't think about it enough or plan appropriately and I gained back all the weight I lose PLUS 10 lbs. A year since my quit date (July 1, 2004) and I am finally back on track with the food plan, but I'm having a devil of a time losing any weight. Seems the ole metabolism really does slow down. So, now what? Calorie counting again?
