Question Jump Starting weight lose after lsign 60 lbs?

Hi everyone. SO my question is like most people we lose alot when we start. Then as we get closer to our goal things start moving slower. I have not cheated since I started. Or should I say when I have "cheated" it a hand ful of peanuts. I am varying my diet with induction phase of atkins and meat a egg. It seems to me everytime I stick to induction phase for any amount of time I dont lose any weight and the same goes with meat and egg, so I find if I do meat and egg during the week and atkins on the weekends I usually lose. But the weight loss is still slow. I see all these threads, lose ____ lbs by ________. Is there anything we can do to start things moving like they were at the begining?

Also, I am soooo confused about the vitamin/supplement things. Fish oil-omego 3? Flaxseed oil? L Caritine? B-complex viitamin? What should we be taking?

Thanks for all the help!

Hi Berrybums5:

It is true that we tend to lose faster in the beginning and slower as we near our goal but that is just our body adjusting. Make sure that you pay attention to your inches loss as well. I find sometimes that the scale will not budge but man o man have i lost a ton of inches! start measuring yourself and keep track of your progress. If you have a craving for nuts, almonds, pecans, macademias or walnuts are the better choice. peanuts can defintely cause a stall.

another important thing is to make sure that you are drinking a significant amount of water. folks who are doing the m&e program try to consume at least a gallon of water per day. you can never drink "too" much water!

as for your supplements - all of the above that you mentioned and Vit. C. - that can be alot of pills to take so you might want to try to look for a multi-vitamin (w/o iron) that will give you many supplements in one pill. Vitacost.com offers a wonderful women's vitamin that contains l-cart. and cq10 along with all of the other supplements that we need.

also are you exercising at all? activity will defijntiely speed up your loss.

hang in there - you're doing great! the loss will come - remember one day at a time....
