Default Your thoughts on SBD vs. other low-carb diets. SBD seems pretty basic, but...

So the philosophy of SBD makes some significant sense, and it's a simple enough plan to follow.

But hasn't some form of this basic premise been running around long before it got the catchy name? (I get the feeling the author lucked into right place and right time with a simple but valid idea.)

That said, are you guys feeling any significant benefits from this plan vs. any prior ways you've low-carbed while also keeping calories nonexorbitant and trying to eat relatively clean and healthy?

Hi There!

Like the saying goes, "Been there, done that" sums up my diet experience I had excellent success with Atkins and with Weight Watchers. I realize that I am a carb-a-holic and if I am not watching my carb intake I can tail spin out of control very easily! The major difference with both Atkins and Weight Watchers was I always felt that I was on a diet feeling deprived and bored. With South Beach I have embraced it as a lifestyle, a different mind set, yes but I honestly feel that this program is easier, healthier, can fit into any lifestyle and with the vast variety of meal possibilities, boredom doesn't play into it.

Well that's my two cents worth!

Chris gave you a good answer!!

Have you read the book yet?
The author, Dr Authur Agatson, is a renowned cardiologist in southern Fla. This diet that he adapted started out just for his heart patients, to help them with their heart diseae....the side effect just happened to be weight loss.
Did he luck out? Maybe, I feel I lucked out!!
Having done every diet, taken every pill and even considered surgery, this food plan showed me how to eat in way that enabled me to lose all my weight(124lbs) and create a food plan that I can live with for life, as I am now maintaining my weight loss going on 4 years.

Does this answer your question?
