Default Where to buy Herseys Cocoa in Victoria

I can't seem to find Hersey's Cocoa anywhere in Victoria. Does anyone know where to find some? I have tried Safeway at Tillicum, Country Grocer at Esquimalt and Fairways at Town & Country plus several other places I just can't remember.

Hey, there, dearmommy! Nice to see you!

I'm not sure I've ever seen Hershey's unsweetened cocoa anywhere around here (and not the unsweetened baking chocolate they make, either)...I think it's pretty much sold only in the States.

I went to www.hersheycanada.com and there was no trace there of any cocoa powder product, only candy bars and ChipIts.

I DO buy the Fry's, in the big yellow "can", it's been very good to me over the years. I also mix up other cocoa's, such as WonderCocoa, Cocoa Camino (these are non-alkalized or not "dutched" natural cocoas), VanHouten, like that.

Hope this is some help to you (and keep out an eye for our roughly monthly Victoria lunch gatherings, ok? We have a small and friendly group of Ladies Who LC Lunch...).

Hi,

I used to buy Hersey's powder in a small plastic sort of rectangular shaped container that had a really easy brownie recipe on the back. Mind you that was before lowcarbing so it might have had sugar in it and I wouldn't have thought about it.

Oh well I have been trying to cut down on the amount of cocoa I have been using so it might be a good thing I can't find any Herseys's, lol.

Thanks for the invite to the luncheons. I have been reading them however whenever I think I can possibly meet up, life get's in the way. I will definitely try soon though.

Linda

Ya know, now that you describe it, I can practically see it in my mind's eye...I must have had some in my collection once, too.

I DO know there is no sign of it ~in Canada~ anymore when I do some serious Googling...shame, eh?

I just bought a 200g tin at IGA in Ontario. It says:

Manufactured by Hershey Canada Inc. Smiths Falls, Ontario K7A 4T8, Canada on the side.

They have a Hershey store there. Paradise for any Chocoholic. Not a safe place for me to go.

Here's a link to their website.

That's cool. I wonder why we can't find it out here...maybe the stores aren't carrying it or something?

I'll definitely keep my eye out; I really like to have a variety of cocoa powders to hand...

That reminds me, I just finally found a container (smaller size) of the Hershey's Natural Cocoa (meaning not Dutch Processed or Alkalized), in the local Save-On-Foods, part of the Overwaitea group of stores here in Western Canada. Was in the Westside Village store, just over the Bay Street bridge...

Cool. Still available. So Linda! You can get it in the Save-On-Foods!
