Hi Cindy,
To date I've had 4 surgical procedures to remove nodules from my thyroid. As I type this, I am awaiting results of a fine needle aspiration test done under ultrasound for yet another one  As a result I ave a very small amount of tyroid gland left. After my lst op in 1994, the consultant said that if I made any more "abnormal lumps" he'd take out the rest of the thyroid. I'll wait and see what they decide.
I do know that it is extremely rare for this top happen this number of times. Nothing like being a medical curiosity is there
