As with everything else - has it got sugar in it? If yes, then no you can't have it. If you can find a natural bio yoghurt - without sugar then yes you can have it - you can always sweeten it with a spoonful of sweetener.

Allow for the carbs when you add up your 20 a day.

Question Yoghurt

Hi Fern

I have natural Greek yoghurt most days - 4 g carbs per 100g and enjoy it. Fruit yoghurt is out as it contains a lot of sugar. Look at the label on the bioyoghurt you buy and see what the carb count is.

The GO-Diet, another low carb plan, encourages you to have yoghurt every day. The cultures in it can be helpful.

So long as you're not on Induction, you can have full fat sugar free yoghurt. I can't wait to finish induction so I can have some! I shall have to content myself with mascarpone cheese. What a hard life this is! lol

It is actually hard to find a flavoured sugar free yog. The lowest carb fruity yogs I have found are from Lidl, and they are v cheap. Look for the pink cardbard sleeve of 8 pots. 99p!

Apart from that Irish Diet yogs from tesco. I have one every other day or so.

Yes, a great shop. A bit unglamorous, often long queues, but where else can you get such cheap and interesting food? Check out the frozen fish!! And the smoked salmon is excellent.

I also like the odd mixture of 'special offers'. A colleague always went in there every week, determined to come out with a trolley containing at least one weird impulse buy. His best was 16 cans of lager and a chain saw. He thought he might get arrested!
