Default Powdered egg whites?

Hi everyone,
I am in college and often times don't have room in my mini-fridge for eggs (or I don't have access to a store to get them - no car!). I heard someone talking somewhere about powdered egg whites, and I was wondering what these are. Can they be used in baking or pie recipes as a substitute for eggs? And if so, where do you find them? I have never seen them in stores that I can remember.

Thanks so much for your help,
Laurie
