Yikes, Liz, that does sound GOOD! Thanks for sharing.

I actually brought my Outback steak home, put some cavender's and butter in a to go container, took it back to work today, microwaved it, yummy!! Much better with Cavenders.

Found this on wiki:

Cavender's Greek Seasoning Clone
________________________________________
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1-1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules, (or pareve bouillon)
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Combine all ingredients, and store in an airtight container.

I wonder will it be the same? It should be easy to replace the sugar and cornstarch? Can't get it here, so I won't be able to compare.

Ok, I thought I would update...

Last night, I made steak, and since I had 4 pounds of vacation weight to lose, I decided not to use the Cavenders with it's high salt and having MSG.

I seasoned the steak with a little salt and liberally with garlic powder, onion powder and pepper. Grilled as usual. It was pretty darn awesome!

I'm coming to the conclusion that the real trick is to just be very liberal with the seasonings!

I fry in garlic butter or use steak beaten (tenderised) with fresh ground pepper on.

Its not a seasoning and there are a few carbs in it but I throw together heavy cream and horseradish or cream and dijon mustard or cream and green peppercorns. All amazingly delish, 2 minutes to make and not very high in Carbs -also mop up cabbage with left over sauce!
