Beef (steak) - where do you buy yours? Supermarket? Butchers?
Hi,
Well I am starting tomorrow. I popped to the local supermarket tonight to get some Atkins Induction friendly food (veggies, cheese, eggs and meat) to get me through the weekend, then I will go shopping again on Monday.
Anyway, I bought some beef, as I like to fry it in butter and eat that for my dinner (with veggies)... mainly because I love beef but also because it's got a good amount of calories/fat etc, so I manage to keep my fat intake up and not eat too few calories. I also prefer it to chicken/pork etc. Anyway, I got 2 small pieces (honestly, I could eat both bits for one meal!) and it cost me over £5. But I will have to have one piece per day and make it last the 2 days instead. Is there a cheaper option to buying beef? the butchers perhaps? If so, the only thing that 'bothers' me about buying from them is I wont have a nutritional info label on the back - I must admit, I do rely on those labels, and I do like to log my total intake (calories, fat protein and carb grams etc).
I am on a pretty low budget right now and would ideally like to spend no more than £5 a day on my low carb food (not sure if that's going to be possible? if not then that's tough luck for me lol, but it would help if I could get some 'cheaper' beef)... It's the meat that's taking me over budget.
