Hi all,
Vinhy, as LC Dave said, Atkins is a way of eating for life, not a diet. Just make sure you are prepared for that kind of commitment before you start (or you'll just go up-down-up-down which I believe is worse for your body not to mention the damage it does to your mental state).
Then, or at the same time, get the book. It's very informative. Read all the pages, not just the ones with the instructions on Induction. It's so much more effective when you understand exactly what is going on.
And LC Dave, as I've been taught in class, ketones aren't a more efficient source of energy. Glucose is the most efficient and easy to break down to use. This efficiency is why you often don't need as much cals as you're consuming and you store the rest as fat. Hence, a low fat diet must be restrictive. Ketones take quite a lot of energy to be produced, hence LC restriction levels are much higher and most people need not pay attn to these unless very close to goal and struggling.
