I thank you all for your kind words.
What did I drink? That's maybe the thing I was most worried about. I used to drink a couple of sodas a day, and about a gallon of sweetened Iced Tea (made from mix). I loved my Iced Tea and didn't want to give it up.
When I first started the diet, I brewed iced tea from bags and drank it unsweetened. I also started drinking water. Pretty soon, I was only drinking water (within the first couple of weeks). I never thought I'd get used to it, but now water is all I drink. Haven't had anything but water for probably 5 months.
As for exercise, most of the time I did no structured exercise (like a treadmill, stairstepper,go to a gym, etc) but as my energy level increased, I was doing more around the house. For example, I used to come home from work and that was my day. Now, I get home, mow the lawn, wash the car, or do some woodworking projects rather than just sit. Its funny but now I actually feel guilty for not doing something.
And all that extra energy.....I'm going to need it. My wife is due the end of January, our first. And I thought my life has dramatically changed already! :-)

Congrats on the weight lose and on the new addition coming into your family. It is so nice to read success stories such as yours, you give everyone such a positive feeling that they too can succeed. You talked about not getting structured exercise, you just wait until that little one one comes home, HEHE. Good luck to you with your maintenance and with your family.

I can't believe my eyes
How on earth did you do that? You look like a whole new person!!! I have just started the atkins 3 days ago. I bought the Atkins Journal and my first entry is today. I don't know how hard it'll be. So far no real cravings but my goals are high. I want to lose 60lbs in 12 weeks. I thought it couldn't be done -almost 5lbs a week- but then I read your story and you have to tell me, please for the love of god tell me, everything you did to lose all that weight. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, walks, sit ups? everything, everything everything. Step by step it for me. What foods you ate the most what you stayed away from even if it was low carb. You are my new idol. Seriously. Step by step 12 weeks, 125lbs at the end. I'm 26 years old and have been fat for 4 years. I married my husband at 118lbs 5 years ago and balloned up (118lbs to 186lbs in 9 months) We have a 3 year old and a 2 year old and I don't know how to eat while pregnant. 4 slices of cake, no big deal, most of a large pizza, I could do it. Now I've had my kids, my husband is fit and handsome and I've got a roll of fat on my stomach that hangs under my larger rolls of fat on my stomach. It's not good. Please detail what you did. Thanks thanks thanks. I wasn't going to post but your pictures took my breath away. That is what I want to do and if you can do, why the heck can't I ?
