Chimps prefer their food cooked... seems unlikely that they need it cooked.

My friends had a fondue thing last night, lots of thinly sliced beef with a hot pot of broth to cook it in. I ate most of mine raw, no salt or seasoning.

I've seen vegans claim that meat is totally unpalatable unless you do stuff to it... for me that describes soy, not meat. Except with soy, I still don't like it, even after the food scientists have had their way with it.

Cooking speeds digestion of meat...

Sometimes the argument is made that cooking speeds the digestion of meat, this allowed the brain to be bigger, and the gut smaller. This suggests... what? If I eat raw beef, instead of cooked, will my gut be to short for this diet to sustain me? There is no evidence that a diet of raw meat would be deficient vs. a diet of cooked meat, is there?
