It sounds like you're doing CAD with an "Atkins mindset". Whatever plan you choose, you have to take it on faith that it will work if followed correctly. It's when you start to second guess or blend plans that things get confusing. You can do this later when you are a seasoned LC'er, but it's better to stick with one to start off with and read about others.
