I agree that 25% of daily calories from sugar is an insane amount of sugar to be recommending as "healthy" by any standards. I can't imagine allowing my kids to scarf down 5 Hershey bars or 5 Twinkies a day each and then trying to say with a straight face that I encourage them to eat healthy. Who do they think they are kidding????
Even 10% is bad enough. Again...I would never consider allowing my kids to eat 2 candy bars a day as "part of a healthy balanced diet" unless the sugar association considers "balanced diet" to mean a candy bar in each hand.
I wonder if there is any place that we can write to express our disgust at the way that they are jeopardizing world health just so their pockets can remain fat?
