People with Hashimotos thyroid disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis do have a harder time losing weight due to the disease and also many of the drugs taken to relieve symptoms. But there are many on this board who have lost and become healthier. Both are autoimmune diseases, so completely eliminating foods that inflame you is necessary to get the best results. For me it was removing all grains and dairy proteins, in addition to keeping ketogenic. And intermittent fasting actually makes it all easier for me to follow; I've experimented a lot, but 1-2 big meals in a 4-6 hr window feels the most comfortable for me.

You may find more good ideas in the "Atkins" subforum as Induction is closer to Ketogenic than this "General" subforum.
