Janet, do you feel recovered from the gall bladder surgery? I hope you are doing well.

I've been trying to put more variety in my food plan, as I've felt for some time that I needed more micronutrients. It's tricky to get the balance of foods just right, without triggering appetite. It was easier to avoid whole categories. Eating more variety means, for me, more allergy/intolerance reactions, along with getting more of the micronutrients.

Reading and experimenting.

Best wishes to you.

Hi, I am in my 70's, so I qualify for this thread. lol.

I wanted to say I recently went the other way: less variety of foods, at least temporarily. I have an Atkins shake for breakfast, also eggs in butter, Atkins frozen dinner for lunch alternating with a burger every other day. Fill in with a Kind protein bar. Then I don't eat till morning again.

The reasons for this are--the heat--will not turn the oven on (or slowcooker). Also, I seem to be tired of trying to figure out what to eat every day that is suitably low-carb.

This also will lower my daily carbs to hopefully speed up my weight loss.
