Since this thread has been revived, I have a question. Has anyone experienced an adverse reaction to these supplements?

I keep trying to take R-ala, Evening Primrose Oil, Gymnema sylvestre, and banaba leaf. Each time I try any of these (individually or together), I end up with a skin reaction, the same reaction I got when eating too many carbs - a hot, red itchy patch.

They do seem to work at reducing my BS a few points, but obviously they are also causing inflammation, so I quit taking them. I thought they would help with inflammation. (I assumed higher carbs were triggering more insulin response resulting in the inflammation.)

I bummed that I cannot take the supplements, especially those recommended by Dr. Bernstein.

Oh well.
