In addition to the already good advice:
I used to make smoothies from whey protein, coconut oil, fresh berries, spirulina. Peanut butter is really a bean... I stay away from legumes and I feel better as a result.
I got started on Atkins by dropping my carbs gradually. Now I can do 24 hour fasts, have a meal of tea & coconut oil, and found that the right supplements can make a lot of difference.
TRACK. Really. I do better with more protein and B vitamins, but then I have a health issue of my own. By all means, see what you are doing, and you might figure out what you are doing wrong.
