The weight routine did work my muscles and I gained a lot of strength, without gaining muscle mass. So it does do what it says it does. And you feel your workout, but you don't feel like crap the next day, because you don't overdo it.

I didn't follow it through to goal, so I cannot comment on how it makes you look in the long run. I can tell you that though I gained my weight back, plus at least 15lbs, at my new "highest weight ever" - I was still 4 sizes smaller than I was 15lb lighter before this workout. So it *did* something.

Yes. Some of the core workouts include pilates, like the "plank."
This just expands that idea to weight lifting, cardio and the gym.
