Well, my experiments so far put one slice of cheese at about one minute and three slices at about two! Essentially once its lightly browned and crispy, you've got your cracker. (Which goes very nicely with homemade mayo! )

Well worth experimenting with different cheeses too... mozarella, for example, seems to turn a nice caramel flavour!
