The Atkins Vita nutrients is a great book. The only problem is that it is copyrighted in 1998 -- 7 years ago. A lot has changed in 7 years.

A better book from Dr Atkins might be

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

this book seems to put it all together

Websites include:

http://www.vitacost.com/science/index.html

http://www.worldhealth.net/p/anti-a...-reference.html

as far as books

My favorite low carb book
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

Nice overview of all the low carb diets and low carb dieting

I would recommend Dr Ray Strand's books
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

why eating a variety of foods, instead of supplements, is NOT a good idea

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

Why you need to get off (and avoid) prescription drugs and do the low carb diet, exercise, and supplements

Earl Mindell's Supplement Bible
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

Earl writes a new book every month (or so it seems) so you might want to consider his newer books which I do not have

The companion book for the www.Worldhealth.Net link I gave you above.

For type 2 diabetes / Syndrome X, Metabloic Syndrome, etc:

Then there are the Omega 3 books

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=glance&s=books

Sears, B. The Omega Rx Zone. Regan Books (HarperCollins). New York, NY (2002)
(can't find ISBN number)

Then there are the Testosterone (men's health) books

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=books&n=507846

Finally, there is my favorite emerging doctor:
http://www.alsearsmd.com/
he has several books or sale that I highly recommend. Dr Al Sears also puts it all together - low carb, supplements, and exercise.

Have fun!
