There are synthetic alternatives. There's a synthetic T3 called cytomel. Lots of people don't do well on T4 therapy only and need T3 added.
Just curious, but what have you got against porcine derived thyroid meds? We get a lot of medicine from other animals. The most popular hormone replacement (at one time anyway) comes from mare urine. |
