After 30 years of being trapped on the wrong side of the fence, I'm just happy to be back in the game again. I see life for its possibilities - not filtered through my endless list of limitations. I can't do everything, but at least now I can try. Not chafing or sweating profusely while I'm doing it is good, too.

One thing that was kind of a shock to me was my perception that normal sized people my age were all relatively healthy and living life as they please. I was seeing them through rose colored glasses. Most are not the picture of health. They have limitations, too. When I finally achieved a normal size I felt like a kid again. I wanted to go out and play. But most of the kids my age just want to sit inside and watch TV. I rarely watch TV anymore. I've got a life to live.
