Default Cheese Danish - to die for!

Cheese Danish

Low Carb & Sugar Free! To DIE for!!

Cheese Danish <<<<--------Click here for my photo! :-D

Today I decided to try a recipe I found on LowCarb360.com and it was amazing! I suggest you watch the video first, as this is always very helpful! This recipe might seem like it has a lot of steps, but it's very easy in the end and SO worth it!

And here is the accompanying video:

You can also find on your ROKU, on the "Food" channels list.

Cream Cheese Filling:

4 oz of cream cheese
1/4 cups of truvia
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium bowl using a hand mixture, whisk together the cream cheese, truvia, egg yolk, lemon juice and vanilla extract. Set aside.

Making the pastry:

4 large eggs (whites and yolks separated)
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
3 oz of softened cream cheese
1 tablespoon coconut flour
2 tablespoons truvia
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks.

Set aside one egg yolk for the cheese filling listed above.

Add the cream of tartar to the egg whites.

Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks.

In a separate bowl add the egg yolks, cream cheese, coconut flour and cinnamon and mix together.

Carefully fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites mixture until combined.

Place the mixture into a muffing top pan lined with parchment paper. *(I didn't use parchment paper, I just sprayed my pain with some oil beforehand, and now I wish I HAD used the paper, as I'm having a little trouble removing them from the pan in one piece).

Spoon the filling mixture into the center of each danish.

Bake at 300 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let them cool before removing from the pan. Use parchment paper to make it easy!

I don't know how to post the photo from my page, but they sure came out looking nice and tasting amazing!
