My husband is 83 & takes no prescriptions. He used to take a statin until he read Wheat Belly & Grain Brain. He's in better shape than I am (at 65) because I have diabetes, but I also don't take prescription meds.

So often treatment & advice depends on which doctor you see. Last year I went to an orthopedic specialist for my knee injury & he didn't really answer my questions, nor did he prescribe PT. Now my other knee is having problems, so my doc was going to refer me to an orthopedic PA - an idea I like. I've noticed that PAs seem to be more willing to answer questions.

But that got switched & I'll be seeing the same specialist as last year. But now I'm prepared - I've read the list of treatments VA will pay for (includes PT) & I know what questions to ask.
