I agree different diets work for different problems. I think it depends on why you gained the weight in the first place. I have a carefree friend with a great metabolism that loses and gains 75lbs over and over again. She can lose on any diet and usually the goal is to be thin again before she goes on a trip to see family. She eats like crazy on vacation and then the diets over for a while.
