Default Hello from France

Hi

I'm an American expat living in France.

I started dieting again two weeks ago - and decided to go ahead and start a journal here because I think it will help me to have a place to put my thoughts about this process and see what I'm doing.

It's my fifth time on low carb. I know it works, and I'm convinced that low carb is the healthiest approach for me.

I'm not strictly following any specific diet although I suppose I'm pretty close to Atkins induction. (under 20 g carbs, somewhat limited foods for now).

Longer term I'm interested in this concept of nutritional ketosis and figuring out what stalls me. I don't use artificial sweeteners or any low-carb products like shakes or bars, its all whole foods.

My biggest challenges are staying on low carb in social situations, over the holidays, and over the very long term (and maintenance). But right now I'm just focusing on today and this week, and maybe that next 5 pound goal. The longer view is a bit too overwhelming right now.
